Founded in 2023 by Tyler Beckas, Beckas Expert Sports Turf Inc. (BEST) set out with the goal of making professional grade athletic fields accessible for all levels of competition. Our team is comprised of former athletes who recognize the role a well-managed and manicured field can have on athlete performance. We give our BEST effort to eliminate distractions and concerns about safety, so your athletes can focus on performing at their BEST.

After being involved in athletics throughout his entire youth, owner and founder Tyler Beckas knew his future involved a career in the professional sports industry. Originally pursuing a career working in sports law, Tyler attended Grand Valley State University. While studying economics and business law Tyler was recognized by the School of Criminal Justice, Seidman School of Business and mathematics department for academic achievement. Utilizing his previous experience landscaping, he began as an intern working on the field crew for the West Michigan Whitecaps. Between the team-centered environment and his enthusiasm for the outdoors, Tyler quickly found his passion for assisting athlete's and teams working on athletic fields.

Fully committing to a future as a professional turfgrass manager, Tyler took a position with the Boston Red Sox relocating to the New England region. Over the course of the baseball season, he began to understand the meticulous attention to detail that goes into managing a Major League Baseball season while also managing a full schedule of facility events ranging from stadium concerts, NCAA football, and hurling. Following his time in Boston with the Red Sox, Tyler relocated once again to the west coast taking a position on the grounds crew for the San Diego Padres. Assisting with the transition of the field from baseball to Monster Jam, Motocross, back to baseball.

Entering the 2019 season, Tyler was given the opportunity to serve as the Director of Field and Stadium Operations for the San Diego Padres minor league affiliate the Lake Elsinore Storm. Throughout the next two years he leaned on his prior Major League Baseball experience and natural leadership skills to establish a crew culture of consistent hard work, attention to detail. Tyler was given an opportunity to work alongside Dennis Brolin and Sports Turf Specialties Inc. to learn the intricate process of athletic field construction. The following years consisted of traveling the northeast region of the United States working on some of the premier and most prestigious athletic facilities in Major League Baseball, the National Football League, NCAA facilities, Major League Soccer and the Professional Golf Association.
